Abstract
A systematic-synthesis technique has been developed whereby a given delay characteristic is approximated within a given error with a small number of all-pass network sections. The method is a generalization of Darlington's using the Tchebycheff polynomial series. As an application, a three-section delay equalizer for color television was designed which had better performance than a four-section equalizer now in use. Keywords
