Abstract
Metabolism of 2-isopropylnaphthalene in rats proceeded through oxidation of isopropyl chain of the molecule. Unconjugated metabolites (4) were isolated from urine and identified: 2-(2-naphthyl)propionic acid, 2-(2-naphthyl)-2-propanol, 2-(2-naphthyl)-1,2-propanediol and 2-(2-naphthyl)-2-hydroxypropionic acid, together with a small amount of unchanged compound. Identification was made by mass, IR and NMR spectroscopy. The presence of glucuronides of 4 metabolites described was also suggested by thinlayer and GLC of extract that was obtained after enzymatic hydrolysis. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
