Notes from the New Zealand Geological Survey—5: Age of Rotoiti Breccia

Abstract

Rotoiti Breccia forms a submaturely dissected plateau sloping down northwards from the Okataina Rhyolite Centre (Thompson, 1964; Healy, 1964), which lies between Lakes Rotorua and Rotoma. Terrace deposits (H₂₊₁) , correlated with the Last Glaciation (Upper Pleistocene), abut the northern margin of the plateau (Healy, Schofield, Thompson, 1964).
