Abstract
Nine disposable 0.4‐ to 0.5‐μm filter, units were tested for sample contamination from aqueous matrices. For some types of filters, contamination and sorptive losses ware significant. Degree of sorptive loss was a function of volume filtered and filtration rate. Analyte sorption was found to be reversible and could be mitigated by the addition of methanol (1/1 V/V) as an organic modifier prior to filtration. Keywords
