Outbreak of Erythema Infectiosum in Elmsford, N. Y

Abstract
During the spring of 1933, an outbreak occurred in the village of Elmsford, Westchester County, New York, with 25 cases ranging in age from 3 to 13 yrs., lasting for 11 wks., and apparently spread by contact. Evidence pointing to definite etiology was negative. The disease was characterized by a typical eruption accompanied by few, if any, other symptoms. From a study of the literature and of this outbreak it would seem logical to believe that outbreaks may be fairly common but unrecognized.
