Abstract
SINCE ITS first description in 1995,1 laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy has rapidly gained widespread acceptance.2-6 Compared with open nephrectomy, it is associated with less postoperative pain, shorter length of hospital stay, and faster return to work.2-9 Some authors have suggested that this new, less invasive technique has also significantly contributed to the increase of live kidney donations in the United States in recent years.9-11Keywords
