Abstract
A practical approach is demonstrated to the anaylsis of experimental survival curves in terms of multi-hit or multi-target models. A linear regression line is fitted to the experimental log survival curve from a fraction of 10-1 downwards, and from the extrapolation number and slope of this line, radiation parameters in terms of both models are deduced. These alternative interpretations may then be relevant to consideration of biophysical methods of radiation action. Analyses of 2 unusual survival curves are included as examples of the use of the method.
