Abstract
The plane‐fronted waves of general relativity are embedded in a six‐dimensional pseudo‐Euclidean space of signature −2. Two distinct families of embeddings are found. Embeddings of several well‐known space‐times are obtained. Certain results of J. Rosen are improved. Keywords
