Abstract
The nonleptonic decay of charmed states is studied by means of renormalization-group techniques in a class of asymptotically free models. An SU(3) sextet rule is shown to result. The enhanced piece of the Hamiltonian belongs to a 20-dimensional representation of SU(4), which distinguishes the renormalization-group approach from some alternate octet-enhancement schemes. Keywords
