Abstract
The modified phase‐space theory of reaction rates has been used to calculate the three‐body recombination and dissociation rate coefficients of hydrogen in the presence of H2, He, Ar, and Xe collision partners. The theoretical predictions, which rely on semiempirically derived interatomic potential information, are shown to be in excellent agreement with the measured rate coefficients over wide temperature ranges. Keywords
