Abstract
During the spring and summer of 1985, research took place in the north of England to explore patterns of heroin misuse, and the response of local agencies. The research was carried out from the University of Bradford by Geoffrey Pearson, now Professor of Social Work at Middlesex Polytechnic, Mark Gilman, now working for Lifeline in Manchester, and Dr Shirley McIver, now lecturing in sociology at the University of York. Their full report is being published in the HEC's Research Report series, and as a Gower publication. Keywords
