Abstract
The average molecular orientation of a monolayer of sodium-dodecylnaphthalene-sulfonate on a water-air interface has been determined by use of optical second-harmonic generation. The molecular orientation is shown to vary smoothly with increasing surface density of the molecules.Keywords
