Frictional Force Exerted by a Flowing Fluid on a Permeable Particle, with Particular Reference to Polymer Coils

Abstract
A procedure has been developed to calculate the frictional coefficient of a porous sphere with radially varying permeability. Application to polymer coils, where permeability values can be derived from sedimentation data at finite concentration, shows agreement with experimental frictional coefficients of polymer coils at infinite dilution.
