Effect of the HarwellA(θ)Data on the 50-MeV Proton-Proton Phase Shifts

Abstract

The new $A\left(\theta \right)$ and $\sigma \left(90\mathrm{}°\right)$ data at 50 MeV are found to decrease the probable range of the phase shifts. The ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}F_3^{}{}_{}{}^{}$ phase, however, is strongly predicted to be far from the value expected on the basis of models; this reflects on the consistency of the data. The most significant result is the rejection of solution 2. Comparison is made to the results of Batty and Perring.
