Abstract
The mol percent G + C content of DNA of 15 Bacteroides strains representing 6 spp. was determined. One group, including 3 strains of B. ruminicola, 2 strains of B. melaninogenicus, 2 strains of B. succinogenes and 1 strain of B. oralis (J1) had a % G + C of 47.6-50.3 and a 2nd group including 2 strains of B. amylophilus, 4 strains of B. fragilis and 1 strain of B. succinogenes had a lower % G + C of 40.3-42.7. The taxonomic relationships among these bacteroides species were discussed. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
