Audiologic Evaluation of Acoustic Neurinomas

Abstract
Pre-operative audiologic evaluations of 18 consecutive patients with confirmed acoustic neurinomas were reviewed. The results showed no pattern consistent with that expected in cases of retrocochlear lesions. The trend of results was consistent with cochlear involvement. A case presentation illustrates that, when cochlear and retrocochlear pathologies coexist, the audiometric findings will be determined by the former.
