Clearance of Blood Coagulation Product I in Rabbits.

Abstract
Product I, a blood coagulation intermediate, was given intravenously to rabbits. Whole blood clotting times determined in plastic tubes from blood obtained by right auricular catheterization were strikingly shortened during infusion, but returned to control levels within 5[long dash]10 minutes. No evidence of in vivo defibrination was present. In vitro inactivation of product I was ex tremely slow, and it was concluded that product I is probably cleared in the intact animal by a cellular mechanism.
