Abstract
A macroion solution is modelled by an unsymmetrical mixture of macroions, neutral macroparticles and counterions. The solution is analysed using a symmetric Poisson-Boltzmann theory, and qualitative agreement found with hypernetted chain calculations when the exclusion volume term in the Poisson-Boltzmann theory is treated by the Percus-Yevick uncharged hard sphere distribution function. Keywords
