Abstract
Pyrene-doped amorphous silica glasses were prepared by the sol-gel method. The optical properties of these pyrene-doped amorphous silica glasses, such as the absorption spectra, the excitation spectra, the fluorescence spectra, and the fluorescence decay time, were measured and compared with those in ethanol solution. From the dependence of these optical properties on the pyrene dopant concentration, the degree of molecular dispersion in the amorphous silica glasses is discussed. Keywords
