Abstract

Presentation of CaseA 32-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of a pulmonary infiltrate.She had been well until 20 months previously, when coryza, pharyngitis and a cough productive of mucoid sputum developed during the eighth month of her first pregnancy. Within two weeks all symptoms of the respiratory-tract infection subsided except for a persistent dry, hacking cough. Nineteen months before admission she underwent an uneventful delivery. No x-ray films of the chest were taken. During the next few weeks drenching night sweats and anorexia occurred, with a loss of 2 kg in weight. Mild exertional dyspnea developed . . .
