Abstract
We present here a unified theory of molecular dissociation. The theory is a generalization of Slater’s unimolecular work. Assumptions concerning normal mode behavior are removed and a common formalism suffices for various statistical ensembles. The quantum‐mechanical extensions of the theory are immediate. Keywords
