Abstract
Selective accumulation of copper in isolated hepatocytes compared to fibroblasts is due in part to decreased copper efflux, perhaps the result of the presence of high-affinity intracellular copper-binding proteins. Preferential accumulation of copper by the liver may serve to protect extrahepatic tissues from copper toxicity.Keywords
