Effects of Frequency of Feeding upon Rumen Volatile Acids, Protozoal Population, and Weight Gains in Angus Heifer Calves

Abstract
In a reversal type feeding trial, pair fed Angus heifers gained weight more rapidly and had greater numbers of the protozoan, Entodinium, in samples of rumen liquor when they were fed ten-times-a-day as compared to when they were fed twice-daily.
