The Identification of Characteristic X-Rays Associated with Radioactive Decay

Abstract

An investigation has been made of the practicability of employing a bent rocksalt crystal spectrograph in the identification of x-rays emitted during radioactive decay. The spectrograph has been found to be a useable tool. X-rays associated with the disintegration of ${}_{31}{}^{}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ga}_{}^{67}{}_{}{}^{}$ ${}_{29}{}^{}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Cu}_{}^{64}{}_{}{}^{}$, ${}_{35}{}^{}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Br}_{}^{80}{}_{}{}^{}$ and ${}_{43}{}^{}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ma}$ have been identified.
