Abstract
An inexpensive, home-made, thermoluminescence measuring system is described which is composed of a compact cryostat, simple photon-counting unit and computing unit. The cryostat with a temperature control unit had a good temperature stability of +or-0.2 K in the temperature range 80-300 K. The photon-counting system could detect light over a wide range of intensities from 10 to 3*107 photons per second with low noise and high reliability.
