Abstract
This article reviews the prevalent theories and treatments regarding symptoms which may follow in the wake of sexual assault. Crisis theory and intervention are addressed first, followed by a description and discussion of cognitive and behavioral treatments for PTSD, depression, and sexual dysfunctions. Among the treatments considered are exposure techniques, coping skills packages, and cognitive therapy. The article concludes with a description of information processing theory and a discussion of future directions in the field. Keywords
