Abstract
A glucomannan has been isolated from bluebell seeds. It is a linear polymer composed of D-glucopyranose and D-mannopyranose residues in the approximate ratio of 1:1.3. Methylation and periodate oxidation results support this structure. Acetolysis of the polysaccharide led to the isolation of cellobiose, 4-O-β-D-mannopyranosyl-D-glucose and 4-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-D-mannose.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
