GAMMA SPECTROSCOPY WITH SEMIINSULATING CADMIUM TELLURIDE

Abstract
Surface barrier detectors were fabricated from vapor‐grown semiinsulating CdTe. Photo‐peaks were well resolved at room temperature and at 90 % charge collection efficiency for γ emitters ranging from 57Co (122 keV) to 60Co (1.17 and 1.33 MeV). Although a resolution of 16 % (FWHM) could be attained with 137Cs (662 keV), the 1.17‐ and 1.33‐MeV peaks from 60Co could not be separated.Keywords
