Abstract
Recent developments in instrumentation have led to the renaissance of Raman spectroscopy. Initial studies have shown that the technique may be used successfully to study surface chemical problems and it now seems appropriate to review these initial studies. The intent of this review is to help new workers in the field and to indicate some of the powers and limitations of the method. Keywords
