The Effect of Cortisone on the Metabolism of Histamine in Hyperthyroid Rats

Abstract
Treatment with cortisone can both prevent and abolish the increased excretion of urinary histamine in hyperthyroid rats. The close parallelism between the amount of non-radioactive and of [C14]-labelled histamine in the same urinary sample after a subcutaneous injection of [C14]-histidine suggests that the formation of histamine is the changing principle.
