Abstract
In Professor Titchener's article on the 'Psychological Concept of Clearness', in which he meets the polemical part of Britz's dissertation entitled, 'Eine theoretische und experimentelle Untersuchung über den psychologischen Begriff der Klarheit', he calls attention at the end of the article to the need of repeating Britz's experiments, for as he says, 'experiment is best met by experiment'. The present paper reports the results of a series of experiments carried out so far as possible under the conditions laid down by Britz. The results indicate that Britz's perceptual steps have been verified and his classification has been extended. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
