Procyclidine Hydrochloride (Kemadrin) Treatment of Parkinsonism

Abstract
Kemadrin, a new synthetic drug, was studied during a period of 2 years for effects and side reactions in 108 Parkinsonian patients that had failed to respond to other remedies. Of these, 62 (57%) showed improvement in symptoms and well being. Kemadrin exerts an action against all major symptoms of Parkinson''s disease, hence may be employed as the basic drug in the treatment of new cases. Side reactions are milder than with other drugs employed in the treatment of this disorder. It is especially effective among, and well tolerated by, arteriosclerotic patients.
