Mossbauer effect study of iron implanted silver alloys as a function of dose and annealing temperature

Abstract

Mossbauer conversion electron spectroscopy is used to analyse the phases present in silver-iron alloys produced by ⁵⁷Fe implantation at doses between 1*10¹⁵ and 5*10¹⁶ ions cm^-2. An appreciable fraction of the iron atoms on substitutional sites is observed as well as superparamagnetic alpha iron precipitates. The behaviour of these phases as a function of annealing temperature is discussed.
