Abstract
Mossbauer conversion electron spectroscopy is used to analyse the phases present in silver-iron alloys produced by 57Fe implantation at doses between 1*1015 and 5*1016 ions cm-2. An appreciable fraction of the iron atoms on substitutional sites is observed as well as superparamagnetic alpha iron precipitates. The behaviour of these phases as a function of annealing temperature is discussed.
