Abstract
The pressor activity of blood obtained by catheterization of the renal veins was determined by injecting the untreated plasma into rats. The response correlated well with the response to surgery and afforded an accurate method for detecting patients with curable hypertension. Patients in whom no pressor agent was demonstrable failed to respond to surgery. The procedure is recommended as a relatively simple means for differentiating patients to be submitted to surgery. Keywords
