Meningiomas in five members of a family over two generations, in one member simultaneously with acoustic neurinomas

Abstract
Despite 4 reports of familial occurrence of meningiomas, inheritance of this tumor remains an open question. A family in which 4 members in 2 generations had meningiomas without evidence of neurofibromatosis was described. Another member of the family had multiple meningiomas and bilateral acoustic neurinomas, while another had multiple cafe-au-lait spots. A highly unusual presentation of neurofibromatosis explains this otherwise unlikely occurrence.
