Abstract
Using N content of tissues and N balance in urine no increase in the non-reproductive tissues of pregnant and lactating rats could be found. The increase of N content is due to the growth of reproductive tissues. An increase of liver N in pregnant animals was compensated by N-decrease in skin. Cleansed intestine of lactating rats showed from the 16th day a significant rise in wt. and N-content. In pregnancies occurring in older animals the N balance is mostly positive. Keywords
