Abstract
Novel instrumentation is described that makes quantitative recording of the precordial pressure possible. A piezoresistive pressure transducer is employed to sense both the static application pressure as well as the variable forces associated with the heart beat. The fundamental theory and some experimental data with medical interpretation is also presented. This new instrument is useful for studying the dynamics of myocardial motion and it is changed in various pathological conditions. Keywords
