Abstract
Oral anticoagulation with warfarin has been the mainstay of treatment for prevention of cardioembolic stroke in atrial fibrillation (AF).1 Although effective, warfarin is limited by a narrow therapeutic profile, a need for lifelong coagulation monitoring, and multiple medication and food interactions.2 Indeed, approximately 40% of eligible patients do not receive anticoagulation, leaving them at substantial risk for stroke.3Keywords
