Abstract
Many engineering activities, such as building design and construction, site redevelopment, and industrial operations, are governed by environmental regulations that are constantly being revised and published. Many state environmental protection agencies are now starting to use Web sites to provide access to their regulations. From the result of a preliminary investigation, many current state regulatory agency Web sites provide no support, other than browsing, for finding relevant regulations. A Java-based environmental regulation broker has been designed to help users in locating relevant environmental regulations. Eventually, such broker software can be provided by regulatory agencies as a standardized support to access their regulations over the Internet. Keywords
