Abstract
The concentration of rat adrenal NADPH and NADP was compared with the rate of corticosteroid secretion at various intervals following hypophysectomy. Steroid secretion by the intact gland falls to a very low level within ½ hr following hypophysectomy, while no change was observed in the adrenal NADPH or NADP until some time after 72 hr following hypophysectomy. It is concluded that changes in the average adrenal cellular concentration of NADPH do not control corticosteroidogenesis in the rat adrenal. (Endocrinology75: 501,1964)
