A Note on the Monophasic Non-specific Salmonella Types

Abstract

A modified Wassen technique proved to be an excellent means of isolating phases of Salmonella which were suppressed under the ordinary conditions of culture. By its use specific phases were isolated from all of the so-called monophasic non-specific Salmonella types. These included the Binns, Voldagsen, Puerto Rico, Berlin and Kunzendorf vars. The existence of the true permanently and totally non-specific strain is extremely doubtful.
