Abstract
A study of the thermomagnetic torque (Scott effect) in N is reported. The small positive Scott torque is measured as a function of magnetic field for absolute pressures of 0.028, 0.043, 0.048, 0.057, and 0.078 Torr. At maximum torque, the magnetic field for each pressure is given by , where Torr and Oe/Torr.
