Abstract
Electrolytic flotation, consisting a rather unusual bubble generation technique, was applied to the removal of hexavalent chromium ion from dilute aqueous solutions at laboratory bench scale experiments. The investigated parameters were: flotation time, current density, type of electrodes, initial chromium content, additional agitation, concentration and type of collector, frother concentration, pH of solution, ionic strength, and temperature. Very good results (removal near 100%) were obtained under the optimum conditions. Keywords
