Abstract
The increase in environmental pollution is largely reflected by industrial activities, urbanization and population development. Due to these activities, it has produced millions of tons of food waste every day. Food waste has become a serious problem in the world as most countries are also concerned about the challenge of managing food waste. Studies suggested that composting is a better method to control and reduce the amount of food waste as it is easy to apply and can be harvested in a short period. Composting also ensures a promising return in prolonging the life span of landfills, as well as reduces the leakage of leachate into groundwater. Keywords
