Abstract
During a 5-year period 111 patients were operated for suspected torsion of the testis. In 64 patients with an age range from 2 months to 46 years acute torsion was found. Eleven testes were gangrenous. In four patients the affected testis was undescended and in four other the contralateral testis was undescended. Indications for explorative surgery on the acute scrotum should be wide even if operation has been previously performed. Keywords
