Abstract
The attenuation of mechanical waves in single crystal quartz at low temperatures and at frequencies in the range 600 Mc/s to 1110 Mc/s has been measured. The results are interpreted in terms of collisions between the low energy phonons, constituting the sound wave, and thermal phonons. Keywords
