Abstract
The aging process is viewed as an interaction between a biologically maturing individual and a changing environment. Current reinforcement contingencies are seen as an important determinant of behavioral deficits associated with aging. The use of operant techniques which focus on the design of new reinforcement contingencies is suggested as a promising intervention strategy.
