Choline, trace elements, and amino acids as factors for growth of an enteric yeast,Candida slooffii, at 43° C

Abstract
A strain of the “thermophilic” enteric yeast Candida slooffii grew in simple defined media at 43° C. if given a supplement of choline (or mono- or N,N-dimethylethanolamine), Fe, Mn, and V. Leucine, only stimulatory at 37° C., was required absolutely at 43° C. Candida sloofii, levadura entérica del grupo termofílico, creció en un medio simple definido a 43° C., si se suplementaba con colina (o mono- o N,N-dimetiletanolamina), Fe, Mn y V. La leucina que estimula el crecimiento a 37° C., era absolutamente necesaria a 43° C.
