Choline, trace elements, and amino acids as factors for growth of an enteric yeast,Candida slooffii, at 43° C

Abstract

A strain of the “thermophilic” enteric yeast Candida slooffii grew in simple defined media at 43° C. if given a supplement of choline (or mono- or N,N-dimethylethanolamine), Fe, Mn, and V. Leucine, only stimulatory at 37° C., was required absolutely at 43° C.
