Abstract
On the basis of pathologic studies in human hearts and observations on early embryologic stages of the chick heart, it is suggested that corrected transposition and certain other inversional abnormalities of cardiac architecture may be due to abnormalities in the helical growth differentials which cause the primitive heart tube, in growing normally into a coiled form, to undergo abnormal rotations during coiling. Keywords
