Abstract
The equations for the kinetics of vacancy-interstitial annihilation with interstitial trapping at impurities have been solved in closed form. Although the transients are given by rather complex combinations of exponentials the later part of the decay is simple quadratic. This quadratic decay is governed by the decomposition of the interstitial-impurity complex. The effective activation energy is the sum of the interstitial migration energy and its binding energy to the impurity. Keywords
